WHEN SCHOOL IS NOT COOL
If your child suffers from allergies, it is important to alert his or her school. Any number of items or conditions inside and outside of the school building may trigger negative reactions for children with allergies. Chalk dust, odors caused by cleaning products, pollens from grasses in the schoolyard, or animal dander present on other students’ clothing all may cause your child to experience debilitating allergic symptoms. Providing the school with a list of all of your child’s known allergies and triggers, the symptoms associated with them, and the medications required if an attack occurs is critical. In addition, be sure that the school has your personal contact information so that you can be reached quickly if necessary.
P.S. One symptom that your child may experience following contact with an allergen is red eyes.
