UNDERARM ENEMY
Not all individuals who have allergic reactions to deodorant are responding to one particular component of the product. Adverse reactions may be the result of the alcohol that helps to create a fragrance or some form of aluminum-based ingredient that is used in the product. Typically, a flushing of the skin or rash appears where the deodorant is applied. More severe cases can result in difficulty breathing or numbness of the tongue. If it is suspected that you are allergic to deodorant, it is important to see a doctor who can determine exactly what is triggering the issue or issues before they escalate. He or she can also suggest alternative products to what you are currently using.
HINT: Your doctor can determine if a more critical underlying problem exists when presented with a deodorant allergy.
