FINE AND DANDER
If you have pets and your asthma symptoms seem to worsen at night, it’s possible that you’re breathing in your pet’s dander, causing the irritation of the air passages in your lungs. Your pets’ dander is sticky, and it will easily attach itself to your carpets, drapes, walls, and bedding. Lying down in a room with dander can trigger asthma attacks. Be sure to vacuum your bedroom frequently using a machine with a HEPA filter. Your bedding should be washed in hot water. Avoid using dense carpets and heavy draperies in your immediate sleeping area. Finally, make sure pets get regular baths to alleviate as much of their dander as possible. And most importantly, keep pets out of the bedroom.
P.S. All hard surfaces in a bedroom should be wiped down every week to keep pet dander at bay.
