Zoë Sariego

Zoë earned her associate’s degree in nursing at Alfred State College in 2020. She then went on to work at Duke University Hospital for 3 years while obtaining her bachelor’s degree in nursing. Her love of nursing and leadership has provided her with many opportunities to grow and learn in her profession. Her love of medical science and research led her to her current position as Clinical Research Coordinator at Smith Allergy & Asthma. In her spare time, Zoë enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, camping, and hiking with her two dogs.

Denise Hiser-Ruddick

Denise earned her master’s degree Nursing in 2009 from SUNY Upstate Medical University and became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  She further advanced her education by obtaining her Doctorate degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2015. She has had many roles as a Nurse Practitioner working with newborns, reproductive health, and asthma and allergy.  Her practice focuses on evidence based- care, implementing cutting edge research when developing patient care in collaboration with her team at Smith Allergy and Asthma. In her spare time she enjoys, traveling, knitting and spending time with her family.

Christina Meade

Christina graduated in 2019 from the BT BOCES nursing program. She has worked in nursing homes as a CNA for 10 years before completing becoming an LPN. She grew up in Western New York and has 8 children.  Christina enjoys spending time with her husband and children, billiards with friends, and trips to buffalo to attend Buffalo Bills games with her family.

Shari Johnson

Shari received her LPN degree from SUNY Broome in 1999 while working as a Medical Assistant on NT 4 at UHS Wilson Hospital.   After a year at UHS, she began working at Broome OB/GYN where she was responsible for patient care, scheduling surgeries and procedures as well as assisting the Physician with procedures.   In 2009, she began working in Allergy and Asthma with Dr. Asha Gupta.  She took on many roles throughout her years with Dr Gupta.    Upon Dr. Gupta’s retirement in 2022, Shari transitioned to Smith Allergy & Asthma as a full time LPN.    Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family especially her Grandchildren.

Jordan Clark

Jordan earned her medical assisting certificate at OCM BOCES. She has worked in a range of offices from Cardiology/Pulmonology to Primary Care. She loves working in the medical field because there is never a dull moment. Outside of work Jordan enjoys kayaking, golfing, playing softball and spending time with family and friends.

Cassidy Yaw

Cassidy earned her LPN at GST BOCES. She has worked her way up from an RA to CNA and now LPN. Her love for nursing has taken her in many different directions over the years – working in urgent cares, drug, and alcohol rehabs to home care agencies. She joined Smith Allergy & Asthma in March of 2022 where she works full time. When Cassidy is not working, you can find her in the woods riding side by side with her dad and daughter and enjoying the sunshine with her little dog Frankie.   In the winter, Cassidy hibernates, like a bear.

Morgan Hughes

Morgan started working at Smith Allergy & Asthma in 2019.  She graduated from GST BOCES program in 2018.  Her biggest joy in life is her two sons.  Her biggest fear is flying insects. Morgan loves being a nurse and likes to bring joy to people by being animated and outgoing.

Casey Maki

Casey graduated from BOCES LPN program in 2003.  She has been working with Dr. Smith for 20 years. Outside of work, Casey enjoys going kayaking, boating, and visiting our local wineries.

Kayla Carlson

Kayla went to school to become an elementary school teacher and worked in the field for over 10 years.  She decided to change her field of focus and chose to work in the medical field.  She started out in cardiology and then went to the ICU.  She started working at Smith Allergy and Asthma in May of 2022.  When she is not working you can find her home raising her 2 step children with her fiancé, loving on her 2 dogs, and planning her wedding in July 2023.

Julie Hodge

Julie joined Smith Allergy & Asthma Specialists in March 2022 as a medical biller with 7+ years of experience. In addition to her billing experience, she has 26 years of customer service experience. She is driven by her passion to help others and she takes pride in striving to learn more so she can help in as many ways as possible. In her spare time, she enjoys her family, friends, movies, board games and cookouts. 

Donna Gardner

Donna is FNP-C Certified in the State of New York Extensive experience in the medical community including:

  • 13 Years experience in Emergency Medicine, and Acute Care (Walk-in)
  • 6 years experience in Asthma, Allergy & Immunology
  • 5 Year experience in Long Term Care
  • 5 Year experience in Primary Care
  • 2 Years Experience as Hospitalist

When Donna is not working, she enjoys exercising, running, walking, and riding bike. She also enjoys cooking and being home with family and friends.

Mea Ochab

Mea has worked in finance for 23+ years. She resides in Horseheads and has three grown children She enjoys camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Kimberly Austin

Kim earned her Associates degree in Human Service Management from the University of Phoenix.  Her love for helping people and giving back to the community has taken her in many different directions over the years.  Kim spent 20 years working with at risk youth in a Residential treatment facility, she is currently a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Cortlandville Fire Department, Kim also volunteers her time working at the Military Courtesy room located in the Syracuse Airport.  She joined Certified Research Associates in June of 2022 where she works full time as the Operations Manager in Cortland NY.  In her spare time Kim enjoys playing softball, working out, hiking, listening to live music, traveling, and spending time on the beach.

Danielle Allen

Danielle has been a nurse for 7 years.  Prior to her LPN she was a CNA for 6 years.  She is a mother to two boys.  She joined Smith Allergy and Asthma Specialist in May 2021.  Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family.

Ted Morrison

Ted joined Smith Allergy & Asthma Specialist in May 2020. He has 28 years experience in Purchasing. Prior to Purchasing, Ted worked in Production and Material Control. In 2003, he earned an APICS Certification in Supply Chain Management at Broom Community College. He has four children, three sons and a daughter, and lives with his wife of 29 years in Marathon. Ted is an avid college and professional sports fan and enjoys attending live events with his twin brother, family and friends. he most enjoys watching his kids complete in their sporting events especially postseason tournaments.

Erin Fortier

Erin joins Smith Allergy & Asthma Specialists with 15 years experience in finance. Erin attended both Corning Community College and SUNY Empire State College. Erin resides in Chemung with her family. She enjoys spending time with her family at Seneca Lake in the summer.

Amanda Heath

Amanda earned her Bookkeeping/Accounting degree at OCM BOCES. After several years in the field, she decided to return to school and received her medical administrative degree. She found her calling working in a medical setting. She joined the Smith Allergy & Asthma Specialists team in July 2020. When Amanda is not at work, you will find her at home raising her 3 children or out enjoying life music at a rock concert.

Allison Stisser

Allison has 25+ years as an Office Manager at a dental office. She is an expert at answering and greeting patients and making them feel welcome. She has a daughter attending college in Geneseo. Allison and her husband enjoy time with their garden, cows and chickens…Country Life!

Mary Kettell

Mary came to us with an extensive background in accounting, personal and commercial lines insurance and payroll processing, having worked in both the private and public sector. At Smith Allergy and Asthma Specialists, she is responsible for accounts payable for all locations. She currently holds a NYS Notary Public License and a P&C Insurance Agents License. Her experience in several computer programs comes from her work history as a surgical scheduler, accounts receivable clerk, duties as USPS Postmaster Relief and payroll processor for several school districts.

Lisa Rossnagel

Lisa earned her BS in elementary education from Houghton College and has 19+ years working as a Communication Specialist in a hospital setting. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.  Lisa also enjoys sewing, crocheting, canning, knitting, crafting, and spending time with family.

Pam Sweeney

With a 25+ year history of working in the medical field as a medical transcriptionist and patient services representative, Pam joined Smith Allergy & Asthma Specialists in May 2013. She initially worked as the receptionist in the Cortland and Ithaca offices, was later promoted to administrative assistant II, and went on to earn ACMSS accreditation as a Certified Medical Scribe Specialist. As a medical scribe, Pam documents the patient and physician interaction in the medical chart, helping to ensure the most accurate and complete patient record and allowing more direct personal interaction between the patient and the provider. Residing with her husband on a small beef farm in McLean, Pam enjoys knitting, baking, and spending time with their five children, 17 grandchildren and an assortment of pets.

Christine Mack

Christine attended OCM BOCES where she completed her class and received her LPN. Her passion of nursing and drive to succeed has lead her down many different paths. She has worked in nursing homes, where she was a charge nurse and supervisor. She also worked in a lab located inside a doctors office. She joined Smith Allergy & Asthma Specialists in February 2020 where she works as a full time licensed practical nurse. She enjoys creating an upbeat atmosphere, working with others and practicing time management. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her daughter.

Jennifer Connelly

Jennifer earned her Associates Degree in Human Services from Corning Community College in 2006. She then graduated from GST BOCES Licensed Practical Nurse Program in 2007. Jennifer resides in Elmira with her husband and their Great Dane, Calli. In her spare time, she likes to go on motorcycle rides with her husband, traveling and exploring new places. She also enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Brianna Phillips

Brianna graduated in 2017 from BT BOCES nursing program. She grew up and currently resides in Marathon, NY. In her free time, Brianna spends time with family kayaking and traveling.

Crystal Bailey

Crystal earned her associate degree in business administration from Corning Community College. She is currently enrolled in the University of Phoenix to further her education and obtain her bachelor’s degree in business administration with an Operations Manager Certificate. Crystal has maintained a GPA of 3.8 during her last semester and made the Dean’s List as well as nominated and enrolled in The National Society of Leadership and Success and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She has been a member of RAPS (Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society) since 2020. Crystal has experience in the medical field from packaging and shipping medical devices, data entry, billing, customer service, administrative work, consumer aide, regulatory specialist and now holds the title of operations manager at Corning Center for Clinical Research. Crystal’s hobbies are spending time with her family and close friends, running in local 5K, 10K, and half-marathons. She has been a part of the Alzheimer’s Association since 2010 and continues to advocate for this cause. Crystal married her Jr. High sweetheart and they have 2 adult children together and several fur grandchildren.

Jacqueline Czwojdak

Jackie earned her B.A. at Buffalo State College. She then pursed and earned her MSPAS at King’s College where she was awarded Health Resources and Services Administration’s Expansion of Physician Assistant Training Scholarship. She has experience in dermatology and family practice prior to joining Smith Allergy & Asthma Specialists. She enjoys hiking with her dogs, reading and traveling.

David Gordon

Attended University of Scranton – Bachelor’s Degree, Biology 1988
Attended King’s College – Graduate of Physician Assistant Studies 1991
Since 1991 David has worked as a Physician Assistant. All, but one year, has been specifically in Allergy, Asthma, & ENT medicine. Board Certified by the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
State Licensure in both New York and Pennsylvania.

Suzan Fenstermacher

Suzan is a fully registered and certified Physician Assistant in the State of New York. She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Health Science degrees from Quinnipiac University.

Suzan graduated with honors from the Quinnipiac Physician Assistant Graduate program which is rated 11th out of 170 PA programs nationwide and she is nationally certified by the NCCPA. Prior to joining Smith Allergy and Asthma Associates of CNY, Suzan spent the last four years in Acute Care & Emergency Medicine where she cared for both pediatric and adult patients. She currently resides in Owasco NY and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Lisa Condefer-Smith

Lisa earned her BSN from West Chester University, and her Master’s degree and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification at the University of Pennsylvania / Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Children’s Hospital is ranked as the number one PNP program in the country, and Lisa graduated first in her class.

Lisa has extensive experience working with pediatric pulmonary medicine, pediatric intensive care, primary care and cystic fibrosis patients in hospital settings as well as caring for children in several pediatric medical practices. She ran the recovery rooms for Operation Smile, an international cleft palate repair team operating in Kenya, North and South Vietnam, Israel, and the Soviet Union.

Ashlee Drumm

Ashlee rejoined Smith Allergy in 2022.  She had previously worked for the practice in the receptionist/billing/and nursing roles prior to going to work at the AOMC in 2015.  While in practice as a nurse she worked on the med/surg floor, floated, and the ICU.  When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling with her husband and two children.

Dr. Christopher Smith

Dr. Smith is a nationally recognized author and researcher who trained with some of the world’s most prominent allergy and immunology experts at the prestigious Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. While there, he conducted the hospital’s largest pediatric asthma research study. He is the author of five chapters on allergic and immunologic diseases in “The 5-Minute Pediatric Consult,” the widely used clinical resource for pediatricians, published in 1998 and updated by Dr. Smith in 2002, as well as several medical articles on asthma and allergy topics.
