ALLERGIES OR COVID-19?

In the present public health environment, people are often wondering whether or not their physical symptoms are related to seasonal allergies or Covid-19.  There are some symptoms that are shared by both conditions such as dry cough, fatigue, headache, sore throat, and runny nose.  When evaluating existing symptoms, it is more productive to review those that are uniquely associated with each medical condition.  Common seasonal allergies cause itchy or watery eyes, sneezing, and excess clear mucus production.  These symptoms are not common with Covid-19. In general, Covid-19 symptoms are similar to those of influenza and may include fever and chills, muscle and body aches, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of taste or smell.

P.S.  Covid-19 tests may be required for work or travel.  Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about the availability of tests.
