COVID-19 Testing Center


Smith Allergy & Asthma Specialists offers the BioFire Syndromic PCR testing for COVID-19 and 18 other respiratory infections, including influenza type A and influenza type B. Test results are reported same-day, and in some cases in less than an hour.

All participates are swabbed outside our office to keep our patients and staff safe. Our staff is also screened biweekly for COVID-19 (for your protection). We also offer antibody testing for COVID-19. Test results are reported in ten minutes.

IMPORTANT CORONAVIRUS (Covid-19) NOTICE

As of this date (March 23, 2020), all Smith Allergy & Asthma Specialists offices will be open and maintaining regular office hours in order to provide care to our patients.

However, Dr. Smith and the entire staff of Smith Allergy & Asthma Specialists take seriously the risks related to the threat of Coronavirus (Covid-19). For your own safety, that of your fellow patients, and that of our staff — we therefore ask that you closely review the following information and abide by the following procedures.

ALL PATIENTS MUST FOLLOW THESE PRECAUTIONS WHEN VISITING OUR OFFICES:

  1. Patients not exhibiting symptoms of illness may enter our lobby but will be asked to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before registering for their designated appointment.
  2. If you have a regular biological treatment appointment such as Nucala, Xolair, or Fasenra — we will treat you while you remain in your vehicle to facilitate social distancing. Please call the office below when you arrive in our parking lot — and we will visit your vehicle to administer your treatment.

  3. If you are a patient with immunotherapy or allergy shots, you may enter our lobby but will be asked to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before registering for your designated appointment. You will then be asked to wait your 30 minutes in your vehicle to maintain social distancing.
  4. If you are feeling ill or have any symptoms of illness, please remain in your vehicle and dial the appropriate phone number below to notify office staff of your arrival.

    You will be assigned an escort who will exit our office, approach your vehicle, and provide you with suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) to enter a designated room separate from our lobby. Once inside, sick patients will remain in the designated room until their appointment and must continue to wear their PPE at all times.
         Note: If you are sick, please do not bring a visitor with you to your appointment — except in cases where a minor must be accompanied by an adult. All other visitors must remain in your vehicle.
  5. Asthma sufferers are strongly encouraged to keep regularly scheduled appointments, since controlling asthma prior to exposure to Coronavirus may improve outcomes.
  6. In all cases, patients and visitors to our offices can be confident that our staff has undergone the latest re-training on State and Federal requirements for office sanitation.
